Assaulted and robbed of cash in city street attack

A PAIR of robbers stole cash and a mobile phone from a  man in a Derby street.

Police say the victim was walking along Osmaston Park Road, Derby, near to the junction of Portland Street, when he was approached by two men. They assaulted him and pushed him to the ground, taking the items from his pocket before running off.

The robbery happened at 7.10pm on Friday, December 7, but police have only now released details.

Officers believe that, as the incident happened on a busy street, there may be witnesses who have yet to come forward.

The victim has described one of the attackers as Asian, aged around 30 and of muscular build. He is about 5ft 7in tall, had a thin moustache and wore a top with the hood up.

His accomplice was dark-skinned, in his mid-20s, about 5ft 8in tall, clean-shaven and also wore a hooded top.
